The Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement said that the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) sought to annihilate the Yazidi belief by targeting Yazidi women.<\/p>\n
The Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement (TAJ\u00ca) made a statement regarding the abduction of\u00a0young Yazidi women in the areas controlled by the KDP, the ruling party in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), where the Yazidi town of Shengal (Sinjar) is also located.<\/p>\n
The statement pointed out that Yazidis who settled in camps in South Kurdistan after the 2014 massacre by ISIS were held captive by the KDP, which, it said, sought to distance Yazidi women from their own culture, belief and morality.<\/p>\n
The statement revealed that dozens of Yazidi women have been abducted by KDP forces in recent years. \u201cThe whereabouts of the abducted women is still unknown. Most recently, two young Yazidi women were kidnapped from the camps under the control of the KDP. There are dozens of other women who have been abducted, but families cannot speak up due to the KDP crackdown they face.\u201d<\/p>\n
