The Yazidi Free Women’s Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Azadiya Jin\u00ean \u00caz\u00eed\u00ee-TAJ\u00ca) held a conference in Shengal with the motto, \u201cTowards Women\u2019s Revolution with Jin, Jiyan, Azad\u00ee\u201d.<\/p>\n
The conference held by the Yazidi Free Women’s Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Azadiya Jin\u00ean \u00caz\u00eed\u00ee-TAJ\u00ca) in Shengal with the motto, \u201cTowards Women\u2019s Revolution with Jin, Jiyan, Azad\u00ee\u201d ended. 350 delegations and Yazidi and Arab women attended the conference.<\/p>\n
At the conference, consisting of two sessions, the women held seminars titled, \u201cFrom the history of women’s resistance to the science of Jineology\u201d, \u201cThe analysis of Jin Jiyan Azad\u00ee\u201d and \u201cThe organization of Yazidi women\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u2018We should deepen our studies\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n Rojhilat Nas\u0131r, member of the Jineology Academy, held the first seminar drawing attention to Kurdish leader Abdullah \u00d6calan\u2019s paradigm on women’s freedom. Pointing to the system of co-presidency, Rojhilat Nas\u0131r said, \u201cThis system paves the way for women\u2019s participation in all spheres of life. The Jineology Academy has conducted comprehensive studies in Europe, Rojava, Eastern and Southern Kurdistan. The science of Jineology should be developed in Shengal. We must free ourselves from the patriarchal and nation-state mentality. We should deepen our studies on Jineology for women’s freedom.\u00a0Leader Apo (Abdullah \u00d6calan) presented the science of Jineology so that we can find solutions to all our problems.\u201d<\/p>\n \u2018They are afraid of women\u2019s struggle\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n TAJ\u00ca member Lawa \u015eengali held a seminar titled, \u201cThe analysis of Jin Jiyan Azad\u00ee\u201d. Indicating that the conference was dedicated to Jina Mahsa Amini, who was killed in Iran, Lawa \u015eengali said, \u201cThe architect of the \u201cJin, Jiyan,\u00a0Azad\u00ee\u201d\u00a0philosophy. Why are states so afraid of the ‘Jin, Jiyan,\u00a0Azad\u00ee\u2019 philosophy? Because they know that this philosophy breaks down the walls of oppression, injustice and slavery. They are afraid of women\u2019s struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n \u2018Women play an important role in protecting the Yazidi people\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n Suham \u015eengali made a speech at the seminar titled, \u201cThe organization of Yazidi women\u201d. Highlighting that the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga forces left the Yazidis alone when ISIS attacked Shengal, she said, \u201cYazidi women were abducted and sold in slave markets. Before the genocide, Yazidi women were weak and they paid the heaviest price of the genocide. Now, Yazidi women play an important role in protecting the Yazidi people.\u201d<\/p>\n Women\u2019s experiences in the revolution<\/strong><\/p>\n Yazidi Women’s Union Co-chair Suad Hiso held an online seminar at the conference because she is not allowed to enter Shengal by the Iraqi government. In her speech, she drew attention to women’s experiences during the revolution in Rojava. \u201cLeader Apo (Abdullah \u00d6calan) led women to struggle for their freedom and to build a future. We have achieved great successes in the last six years. As the Yazidi Women\u2019s Union in Rojava, we make great efforts for women to organize and improve their self-defense. In Rojava, women lead important works with the philosophy of \u2018Jin, Jiyan, Azad\u00ee\u2019. Women from all segments take part in these works. The enemy targets women because it is afraid of organized women. However, the enemy will fail. The Rojava Revolution started with the philosophy of leader Apo and it has been spreading everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n H\u00eaza \u015eengali, member of the Shengal Women\u2019s Units (YJ\u015e), held a seminar titled, \u201cWomen and Protection\u201d. Noting that\u00a0defense forces in Shengal were founded based on the thoughts of Abdullah \u00d6calan, H\u00eaza \u015eengali said, \u201cThe YJ\u015e was founded based on the paradigm of leader Apo. We, as women, decided to protect ourselves with our own will. The Yazidi women went to Raqqa and fought ISIS to bring back the women abducted by ISIS. Thanks to leader Apo, we fight for our freedom today.
