TAJÊ calls for enhanced struggle on the occasion of 8 March

“On the occasion of 8 March, we will enhance women’s organisation and resistance to break through the attacks against Shengal,” said the Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement.

In a statement on the occasion of 8 March International Women’s Day, the Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) highlighted the importance of 8 March for international women’s struggle in terms of ensuring gender equality and making women’s struggle permanent.

Remarking that 8 March was achieved at the cost of a heavy price, TAJÊ stated the following:

“With the achievements of their struggle, women from all parts of the world march toward a women’s revolution against the male-dominant system today under the slogan ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’ [Woman, Life, Freedom]. Helpless in the face of women’s struggle, the male-state system increases its attacks in every field of life.

This year, we welcome 8 March under the AKP-MHP fascism and the attacks of its collaborator, KDP, against Shengal. The AKP-MHP government, the representative of the male state system, tries to cover up its defeat against the freedom struggle through its attacks against peoples, women and beliefs.

We in the TAJE consider the attacks against Shengal as attacks against the identity and resistance of women. On the occasion of 8 March, we will enhance women’s organisation and resistance to break through these attacks. We will keep fighting in all areas for the liberation of the women held in ISIS captivity.

In the scope of the campaign “We march for women’s revolution under Jin, Jiyan, Azadi”, launched by the KJK (Kurdistan Women’s Communities) to mark 8 March, we will continue the struggle against anti-women policies, genocide and occupation attacks. As TAJÊ, we celebrate 8 March for Leader Öcalan, our heroic martyrs and all women.

In this scope, seminars, meetings, cinevision events and screening of Heza documentary will be organised to mark the International Women’s Day. In addition, a massive march will be carried out on March 8 to raise the resistance of women and denounce the attacks on Shengal.”
